Bayesian Average as an option
We added another option for our paid customers to calculate average rating - Bayesian Average. The bayesian average is a statistical technique used to reduce the noise due to low sample counts. In effect, the less item has votes, the more it is pulled towards Initial Average.
This is a mathematical term that calculates a rating of an item based on the “believability” of the votes. The greater the certainty based on the number of votes, the more the Bayesian rating approximates the plain, unweighted rating. When there are very few votes, the bayesian rating of an item will be closer to the average rating of all items.

Today we announced new Rating system version
Today we announced new version of a revolutionary, fully-hosted, online service which enables any web site to implement customer ratings and reviews, quickly and easily, using configurable "rating widgets." No expensive software or extensive programming is needed. This new service, available at www.Rating-System.com, is gaining rapid acceptance.

Rating-System.com makes it possible for any web site, even existing 'static' sites, to implement star ratings with comments.  Early adopters report surprise at how easy it is to enhance an older, brochure-style web site with candid customer testimony, using Rating-System.com's rating and review components.  Web site owners can now well afford to take advantage of Web 2.0 social networking and word-of-mouth marketing.  This can raise customer awareness, interest, desire, and acceptance -- concerning products, services, or media.  Anything can be rated and reviewed.

The basic service level is entirely free to the user.  Each free rating box includes a small credit below it, which states "Powered by Rating-System.com."  If usage exceeds 500 daily impressions, or if the site owner prefers no linked credit, service plans are available.  Coverage can be purchased up to an unlimited number of impressions.  Service Plan details and pricing are posted on the site.

Rating-System.com is revolutionary because it combines low cost (or no cost) with easy, rapid implementation.  Before Rating-System.com's hosted rating service, if a web site owner wanted to display customer evidence, either they had to gather testimonials and post them statically, or undertake a protracted, expensive process to set up automated  testimony harvesting. Older rating and review systems require complex software development, tedious integrations, or expensive hosted service implementations.

Case studies have shown how much customer testimony influences purchasing decisions.
User review is a known powerful marketing tool. 58% of ecommerce buyers prefer sites with user reviews, according to MarketingSherpa’s 2007 Ecommerce Benchmark Guide, and 44% of the large ecommerce sites they surveyed offer user review or ranking features.

Now a powerful star rating and review comment system is available to anyone with internet presence, regardless of company size or assets, at www.Rating-System.com.
